Tradewinds Education Program Launches “Together We Grow” Campaign for Expansion Efforts at The Root Farm

The Root Farm’s partnership with Upstate Caring Partners continues to bloom with the recent announcement of the “Together We Grow” Campaign, an expansion of the Tradewinds Education Center’s agriculture and vocational-based curriculum that will continue providing meaningful opportunities to people of all abilities.

The Root Farm has always been a place where human potential is nurtured through meaningful connection to animals, nature, and community. It is through fostering these all-important relationships that confidence is grown, horizons are broadened, and joy is experienced. The expansion of Tradewinds programming at The Root Farm will nurture these relationships for years to come by building pathways that lead to skill-building and greater independence for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The five million dollar expansion project is anchored by two new structures: a school building housing five Tradewinds education classrooms, and a versatile three-season event pavilion. The classrooms will build upon the Farm’s integration of the Tradewinds mission by providing resources that further develop social, communication, and practical life skills. The event pavilion serves as both a “classroom with a view” and a gathering place that brings the broader community into life at the Farm.

Students and staff alike look forward to this exciting new project and the opportunities it will bring in the future. The Root Farm is proud to continue nurturing our relationship with Upstate Caring Partners, ensuring The Farm’s ability to positively impact people throughout the community for generations to come.
